What is next

The API is small on purpose. This is what it cannot do yet. The first six are planned. The last two are gaps we know about:

  • Hot reload of a script into a running game.
  • Sound and camera from scripts.
  • More events: orders, damage, regions.
  • A richer interface: images, bars, text input and tooltips.
  • Reading the game's gold, the teams and the heroes' levels from a script.
  • Client-side scripts for what only one player sees (effects, interface motion). They may use the real clock and real randomness, and they send anything that matters to the game as a command.
  • Cancelling a timer.

Items marked Later in the project plan are not in the API. GUI triggers are one of them. They will sit on top of Go and will not replace it.
